Upcoming Activities for Spring and Summer

The 5/3rd Bank “eBus” will be at OLHSA in Pontiac on Thursday 8/10 from 10AM-3PM! They will have the mobile Empowerment bus with computers for free credit reports, a job-seekers tool-kit, prizes, workshops, music, and games. Bankers and financial coaches will be on site to speak with clients about money management, and how to boost your credit score. They will also have a mobile Secretary of State office here that day, where you can do most of the things you can do at a branch office, without the waiting. There will be a representative from the Social Security Administration available to speak with clients. Several community partners will also be there, including Jay Shop, Habitat for Humanity, Sun Time Bank, Oakland County Community and Home Improvement, and others who need to confirm. They will have tables and information on programs at OLHSA, including WIC, weatherization, housing counseling, and more. There will be a mobile dentist on site for children under 18 years old. Clinton Township Recreation is presenting a Summer Concert Series! Each Wednesday during July and the beginning of August, there will be a movie and a concert with concessions available. Please see the Summer Concert Series flyer for details.

The Salvation Army – Mt.Clemens Corp is providing back to school assistance for cities in their service area. This assistance is for school aged children only (K-12) and spaces are limited. Please see the Back to School Assistance flyer for further information.


DWMHA’s Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting Skating for Hope: Life Matters on May 28th, 2017 at Detroit Roller Wheels. For details, please see the Skating for Hope flyer.


Back by popular demand, MORC is providing a 2nd opportunity to attend the webinar, Calm at the Center:  Mindfulness Practice For Those Caring For Others.  This will be a repeat of the presentation that took place earlier this month and the feedback was very positive from the 100 people who attended.  Please see the Mindfulness flyer for registration information.


It’s time for the GHS Dance! The GHS Board of Directors voted to officially name the dance The Peter F. Saddington Dance for Mental Health in honor of long time board member Pete Saddington. This year’s theme – Cruisin’ USA – and the Corvette were specifically chosen to honor Pete.  See the GHS Dance flyer for more information.


Join MORC at their Miles for Smiles 5K Walk/Run event on Sunday, May 7th. There will also be a 1/4 mile event that will be free for the people who are served by MORC and the caregivers who walk with them. Click on the Miles for Smiles flyer for registration details and times.
